Join Team SOFREP! We’re Hiring: Writer & Editor Wanted

SOFREP and The Loadout Room are looking for a couple of experienced keyboard warriors.
Both gigs are remote, part-time, and come with one guarantee: you’ll never be bored.
Writer – SOFREP
We need someone who can cut through the noise and drop sharp, informed takes on military, defense, and national security matters. No fluff, no filler. Just clean copy that lands like a well-aimed shot.

You should:
Know your way around WordPress and the world of military/defense/foreign affairs.
Handle deadlines like you’re under fire—calm and fast.
Bring original ideas, not recycled press release garbage.
- Have a military, law enforcement, or three-letter agency background (We’ll check)

Editor – The Loadout Room
Think gear, guns, and grit. We’re looking for an editor who knows gear and how to put it through its paces. No fluff. No AI-churned slop. If you’ve got the chops, you’ll steer the ship.

You should:
Have writing and editing chops. Experience with digital media preferred.
Spot sloppy copy a mile away.
Know gear and outdoor kit, and be willing to learn about new stuff fast.
- Have a military, law enforcement, or three-letter agency background.
What You Get
Remote freedom—work in your bunker, cabin, or corner booth at the local coffee shop.

A seat at the table in a veteran-driven media team.
Think you’ve got the grit? Prove it.
